Children’s Capital of Culture is throwing a giant FREE Birthday Party, and you are all invited!
In 2025, we had an incredible year of festivals, creativity and fun, we’ve made so many memories, and what better way to say goodbye than with our biggest event so far – the Children’s Capital of Culture Birthday Party.
On Friday 20 March 2026, Rotherham town centre will be transformed into the site of a large-scale, vibrant and thrilling party! A birthday party that celebrates all of the children and young people born in Rotherham, their imagination and creativity, as well as the wonderful work that so many young people have completed as part of Children’s Capital of Culture throughout the years.
We’ve partnered up with studio Walk the Plank – experienced producers of pyrotechnical, large-scale events – to bring to life stories written by children and young people and ensure you experience a once in a lifetime evening! This will be our showstopper event, a spectacular finale to end our programme on a high note.
So come along for a major celebration of achievements, local pride, and youth creativity at this all-inclusive party in the town centre.
