Carnival performance opportunity: Roots festival

Children’s Capital of Culture are looking for individual artists or groups who would like the opportunity to perform on stage at Roots – Rotherham Street Carnival, on Saturday 28 March in Rotherham Town Centre.

The performance should bring the upbeat carnival spirit and enhance the positive atmosphere on what is set to be a fiercely fun, friendly and joyful festival.

Performers on stage at ROOT.

About the opportunity

Roots – Rotherham Street Carnival is an annual celebration of Rotherham’s natural environment brought to the borough by Rotherham Council and partners. It will feature a day of live music, activities, puppetry, dancing, parade and more, for all the family to enjoy.

A main stage will work as a key element of the event hosting a diverse programme of up-beat artists/groups, to draw in the crowds and allow the party to continue beyond the parade. We aim to provide artists new/experienced alike with the opportunity to perform and demonstrate their ability. Whether your skills lie in singing, dancing, theatre or unique performance we would love to see what you have to offer.

Benefits

Each successful artist/group will receive £100 payment for a 20-minute set as part of the Roots stage programme.
