Activity of the season!

The Cohesion of Rotherham Project
This community-led project is designed to foster trust, inclusion, and shared understanding across Rotherham’s diverse population.
Over the course of 12 interactive events between July 2025 and March 2026, South Yorkshire WH Community aim to engage 700–1,000 residents from all walks of life.
Over a lunch buffet, each gathering will create opportunities to connect, share, and celebrate our differences while building a stronger community where everyone belongs.
Library adventures
Family Cake Decorating
Wickersley Library and Neighbourhood Hub, Rotherham, S66 1JJ
Every other Saturday from 10:00am until 12:00pm
£3 per session
Children and parents can work together to create a cake masterpiece with an experienced teacher and cake decorator! The sessions differ each week ranging from robots to dinosaurs to animals and much more.

- Makerspace: After-school club for ages 6 to 12 to design, create, and experiment.

Join Grimm & Co and Screen Yorkshire for an intensive programme learning about the film industry and creating a horror movie of your own!

Sports and outdoor fun

Rotherham School Games
In 2026 Rotherham School Games will once again deliver a vibrant programme of sports festivals, taster days and competitions for young people aged 7–16 across the borough.
This Spring term, get involved in an exciting mix of activities including sports hall athletics, basketball, panathlon, football and futsal – plus their popular Girls’ Week, showcasing a variety of opportunities taking place throughout Rotherham!
Schools can enter events directly, and all dates and times are available on the School Games calendar issued at the start of the year.
Clifton Water Splash
Clifton Park, Doncaster Rd, Rotherham
Cool off in the interactive waterplay area with jets, splash buckets, and paddling pool.

KS1 and KS2 Homework Club
Oates Close Neighbourhood Centre
Free support with English and Maths, plus learning games.

The Amara Collective
The Amara Collective is youth group dedicated to empowering girls aged 13 to 18 from minority ethnic backgrounds.
This is a safe space for young girls to offer support and provide a platform for marginalised voices to be heard.
Build new friendships, develop leadership and community skills, and take part in fun events and other social activities!

Performing arts
Rotherham Dance Centre

Creativity, diversity and friendship through dance! Regardless of your ability or challenges, Rotherham Dance Centre provides an inclusive space for every student where you can grow as a dancer.

Breakout Arts
Youth Theatre Group every Saturday in term time at Rotherham Civic Theatre from 11:00am until 1:00pm
Dream to Screen sessions every Wednesday in term time at St James Church from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Breakout Arts tour new original plays and provide accessible and fun workshops in Rotherham. Get involved in their youth theatre group and media sessions taking place every week this term.
Winter Festivals
Land of Lights
Gulliver’s Valley, Mansfield Road, S26 5QW.
Selected dates from Saturday 8 November until Saturday 31 January.
Step through a glowing portal of light and imagination as Land of Lights arrives in Rotherham for the very first time! This spectacular outdoor lantern festival will transform Gulliver’s Valley into a world of colour, creativity and after-dark magic.
