The brief and fee
The brief
We are looking for filmmakers who can work collaboratively with the CCoC creative learning team, our external evaluator, and schools themselves to create short films documenting key creative learning projects. The films will be used to share inspiring practice and as resources in future professional development activity with teachers and creative practitioners. The films will need to be visually impactful, celebrating and promoting the impact of Children’s Capital of Culture.
The films must effectively promote Children’s Capital of Culture, utilising our overarching brand and visual identity and highlighting impact of the project in an accessible and engaging way.
The films that are created must be made and shared in accordance with data protection, safeguarding and health and safety guidance, and must be suitable to be shared with public audiences, including children, young people and parents.
The films must document aspects of the creative learning programme, reflecting the programme’s commitment to co-creation and the self-determination of the children and young people involved.
As such we are looking to work with filmmakers who can demonstrate significant experience of working collaboratively with children and young people, and who will support children and young people to develop confidence in contributing their ideas and experiences.
Over the course of the commission, each filmmaker will be appointed a key creative learning project that they will follow from start to end, documenting the process using film, animation and/or audio recordings. Filmmakers must be available to undertake this process of documentation within school hours. Each filmmaker will then work with the creative learning team and the external evaluator to identify key insights that will be the focus of the finished films, reflecting this in the final edit.
Fee
A total fee of £2,000 will be awarded for the planning, filming, editing and production of each film.
This fee is inclusive of all aspects of project delivery, including materials costs, travel, and expenses, including DBS checks if relevant.
