Role and requirements

Role

  • Plan and undertake film / audio documentation of one (or more) creative learning project(s). We anticipate at least three working days would be allocated to filming.
  • Work collaboratively with the Children’s Capital of Culture team to effectively deliver a creative, professional, and co-produced evaluation film in a variety of formats for public screenings and online sharing. We anticipate at least three working days will be spent on editing.
  • Ensure that the documentation process enables teachers, creative practitioners and children and young people to contribute ideas and share their experiences.
  • Share footage with the creative learning team and evaluator, including for possible use in social media posts, where appropriate.
  • Work with the creative learning team and evaluator to determine the focus and structure for the final edit for the film.
  • Ensure that the finished film(s) are created and shared in accordance with all relevant safeguarding and health and safety guidance.
  • Ensure that any filming takes place within the guidelines for gaining informed consent for the evaluation, which will be provided to the successful applicants.
  • Create and manage risk assessments as appropriate.
  • Attend a screening for the evaluation films in November 2025.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of creating high-quality and creative film outputs.
  • Previous experience of working with schools or children and young people.
  • An interest in learning and evaluation.
  • Your own Public Liability Insurance.

If your application is successful, we will request to see a copy of your DBS check. If you don’t have a DBS check yet, you can still apply, but if you’re successful we’ll need to support you to complete a DBS check before this work can commence.
