The Final Level Finale: Strand 1: Plug in Zone

The Final Level Finale part of the event takes place on 31 October in All Saints Square.

Plug In Zone

The first strand of the Finale is the Plug in Zone. All Saints Square will be transformed into a village of digital and electronic games. These are open to anyone, but the immersive, active challenges will have an appeal to 11 to 16 year olds.

An interactive activity

Scavenger Hub

Come and join in our sound experiments!

Have a go at making the Robot Chicken using upcycled computer junk, feel 1000 watts of bass power though your fingers, watch some dancing alien Oobleck, play a mechanical violin, and connect your friends to an electrical circuit to find out how squeaky their noses are.

Thunkist

Thunkist, AKA Simon East, is a long-standing visitor to the festival. Simon is a musician and creative technologist who specialises in taking movement from smartphones and smartwatches and using that to trigger sounds and visual effects.

Those interested in the audio side of things can expect to wrangle everything from chilled ambient sounds to hectic breakbeats in Ableton Live. Dancers and movers can expect to be creating soundscapes by moving their bodies.

Street Pixel by Biome Collective

Street Pixel is a magical interactive paving system that transforms the urban landscape through light, sound and play.

Combining architecture and emotion, Street Pixel uses playful technologies, recycled materials and game design to connect people and spaces in wonderful new ways.

Chiptune Orchestra

Reusing video game controllers and transforming them into musical instruments, this unique area is the place to build an electronic soundscape and rethinking gaming technology.
